Painted by Albert Bierstadt in 1868, this painting depicts a spectacular view of the nation's "undiscovered and untamed frontiers." Albert was an immigrant, coming to America at the age of one growing up an artist and avid adventurer. He would often join journeys of the Westward Expansion, and it's where he was speculated to have gotten most of his inspiration.
